HomeFree Manual
Welcome. HomeFree is a small computer that lives in your house and quietly runs your own cloud — your files, your photos, your calendars, your chat, your news, all of it on hardware you own.
This manual walks you through three things:
- Setting up the hardware — what to buy, how to plug it in.
- Installing HomeFree — a guided installer on a USB stick.
- Using the apps — page by page, the apps you can run and how to connect your phone or laptop to them.
If you can plug in a router, you can do this. Most people finish in an afternoon.
Get started
- Hardware setup — what you'll need, and how everything plugs in.
- Installation — download the installer, walk through the on-screen steps.
Apps
- FreshRSS — your news reader.
- FreshRSS on Android — reading on your phone with Capy.
More apps will get their own pages as the manual grows.
